Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today condoled the demise of hockey legend Padma Shri Balbir Singh Dosanjh, who breathed his last at a Mohali hospital on Monday morning.

Balbir Singh was member of the 1948 London Olympics gold medal-winning Indian hockey team.
One of the country’s greatest athletes, Balbir Sr was the only Indian among 16 legends chosen by the International Olympic Committee across modern Olympic history.
His world record for most goals scored by an individual in the men’s hockey final of the Olympics still remains unbeaten.
He passed away at 6:17 am on Monday. He was 96.
