Odisha Creates 2000 Post of Doctors

Bhubaneswar: In yet another move to strengthen health sector in the State,  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal to recruit 2,000 doctors, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Saturday.

Earlier, the sanctioned strength was 6,719. Of the total sanctioned strength, a total 3288 posts are lying vacant.

Now, 2000 new leave training reserve medical officer (LTRMO) post have been created.

The creation of 2000 posts of LTRMO in the rank of Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and health Services Cadre has been made for the peripheral health institutions of the State to provide adequate health service to the people.

The new doctors will be posted at Sub Divisional Hospitals, Primary Health Centres (PHC) and Community Health Centres (CHC.

State health minister Naba Kishore Das said that with the appointment of additional doctors each CHC will have five doctors.
