Odisha Foils Andhra Mischiefs in Kotia Panchayat

Koraput: Despite the Supreme Court’s order for maintenance of status quo in the disputed areas of Odisha-Andhra border areas in the Kotia Panchayat of Odisha, the Andhra Pradesh Government is continuing its mischievous activities in one or the other form. The latest issue of entry of Andhra officials into Odisha area in the name of vaccination has been thwarted by the Odisha Police.

Andhra has stepped up its illegal activities in the disputed areas and its officials are regularly entering the Odisha border. On the other hand Odisha has also stepped up its vigil in the border areas.

Koraput Collector Md. Abdaal Akhtar has ordered the police forces to stay put in the areas and take strict action against any unlawful activity inside its territory.

He has also instructed the Panchayat and Revenue department officials to stay at the border areas and oversee the various developmental activities being taken up by the Government of Odisha there.

The case related to the 21 of the 28 villages in Kotia Panchayat dates back to the 1960s and is in court.
