Odisha Govt Asks Collectors to Remain Alert

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha Government on Wednesday asked the district collectors to remain on alert to ready to meet all eventualities arising out of possible flood and water-logging. 

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena asked the collectors to be prepared for the possible flood and water-logging in the event of intense rainfall in the State.

As many as seven districts including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Bhadrak and Ganjam have been issued orange warning.

A cyclonic circulation lies over south Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood and under its impact, several Odisha districts will further experience enhanced rainfall activity in the next 24 hours, informed the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre in its latest bulletin.
