Odisha Govt to Provide Food, Hygiene Kit at TMCs for Registered Returnees Post Lockdown

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will provide food and personal hygiene kits at temporary medical camps (TMCs) for the people who registered at the government portal to come back to the State post COVID-19 lockdown.

The State Government has approved unit cost for running of TMCs for the people stranded outside the State who intend to come back to Odisha after the lockdown period.

As per an official notification, food expenditure of Rs 120 per adult per day will be provided at TMCs for 14 days while the amount will be Rs 100 for children below 14 years of age from the date of report in the GP and ULB.

Rs 300 will be provided for personal hygiene kit ( (toothbrush, toothpaste, tongue cleaner, soaps, oil, razor, masks, sanitary pad, mug, bottle, bucket, etc ) of each person.

Two bed sheets and two pillow covers will be procured for each bed at the TMCs.

Nearly 4.86 lakh stranded migrant workers and other natives have so far registered with the Odisha government stating that they intend to return home after the lockdown is lifted.

The returnees will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine of 14 days at the TMCs across the State.
