Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today urged the media persons not to visit the quarantine centres where the Odia returnees have been placed as part of the preventive measures to check the spread of COVID-19.
In an advisory relating to return of stranded Odia people, the Information and Public Relations department requested the media persons not to visit the point of arrival of the returnees including railway station or check points.
Keeping in mind the personal safety and health of media personnel and containment of any possible infection, all media personnel are requested to abide by the advisories, the department said.
Relevant photographs and the news brief will be shared with all the media houses by the l &PR department.
In view of permission accorded by the Ministry of Home Affairs allowing migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons to return to home states, large number of Odias may return to the State through road or rail route, the department added.
