Odisha Increases Fine Amount for Not Wearing Mask; Rs 2000 for First and Second Offence, Rs 5000 for Subsequent Offence

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has hiked the fine for not wearing mask in public places.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, the fine for not wearing mask has been increased to Rs 2,000 for first and second offence and Rs 5,000 for the subsequent offence.

Previously, the fine was Rs 1,000 for the first or second offence.
The penalty amount has been revised hours after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a 14-day ‘Mask Abhiyan’ in the fight against COVID-19 while addressing the people of the State.
