Bhubaneswar: Odisha, which has received national as well as global recognition for its flagship ‘Odisha Millets Mission’, will observe ‘‘Millets Divas” on November 10, the first Thursday in the month of Margasira, for promotion of millets.
With the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, it has been decided to observe ‘Millets Divas’ on the first Thursday of Margasira on November 10, informed Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha.

The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment is implementing the flagship initiative, the Odisha Millets Mission (OMM) in 19 districts of the State.
Millets are small seeded cereals which are climate resilient and powerhouse of nutrition. OMM aims to improve livelihoods of vulnerable rainfed farmers by reviving millets in farms and plates.
