Odisha: Vigilance Raids Two Junior Accountants of Forest Department, Finds Assets Over Rs 1.7 Crore

Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted raids on the properties of two junior accountants of Forest Department and found in possession of movable and immovable assets over Rs 1.7 crore.

The vigilance teams, lead by Santanu Kumar Padhi, Vigilance Additional Superintendent of Police at Berhampur Division, made simultaneous searches on Nabin Chandra Bisoyi, Junior Accountant, office of DFO, Chilika Wild Life Division, Balugaon and Surjya Narayan Tripathy, Junior Accountant, office of DFO, Berhampur Forest Division on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

During the raids, the anti-corruption officials unearthed assets to the tune of Rs 1,70,73,809 from the possession of the junior accountants.

Vigilance officers conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of Nabin Chandra Bisoyi such as his residential triple-storied building at Berhampur, forest rest house at Chilika and office room at Balugaon and found assets worth Rs.1, 11, 02,876 from his possession including one triple-storied building, two numbers of plots, deposits in different Banks, two numbers of two wheelers, gold and silver ornaments, cash over 1.4 lakh and household articles.

Similarly, the vigilance officers traced movable and immovable assets worth Rs.59,70,933 from the possession of Surjya Narayan Tripathy after conducting raids at his residential triple-storied building at Berhampur, flat at Berhampur and office room at Berhampur.
