Odisha’s Positivity Rate 0.4% is Lowest among Affected States, Says I&PR Secy

Bhubaneswar: With the spike of COVID-19 positive cases in the State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed to work with greater vision and effect, informed Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department Sanjay Singh today.

Besides, setting up of 35 exclusive COVID-19 hospitals, the State Government has already prepared 7291 temporary medical centres with 1.82 lakh beds in all the 6,798 Gram Panchayats, Singh further informed.

The poor people have been provided ration for the next three months to ensure food security, so that they encouraged and prepared themselves to fight coronavirus, he added.

Throwing light on testing, Singh informed that 36,593 samples tested in the state so far, 153 have tested positive (positivity rate is 0.4 percent, the lowest among the affected states).
The State has reported only one death so far, Singh added.
