Puri: Odisha Govt to Provide Houses to Servitors, Srimandir Gurukul to Start from Next Academic Session

Puri: In a major step, the Odisha Government will provide houses to the sevayats of Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri.
In the first phase, 400 servitor families will get the houses, informed Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Dr. Krishan Kumar after the meeting of newly-formed Temple Managing Committee held under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on Thursday.

The SJTA Chief Administrator said that over 8 acres of land will be provided to 400 servitors and an amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to each family for construction of house on 600 sq ft plot.

Talking about the gurukul project, he said that Srimandir Gurukul will start from the next academic session.
Srimandir Adarsha Gurukul Society will be formed the under chairmanship of Puri Gajapati, he said.

The gurukul will be developed in over 17 acre land at Matitota for providing education to the children of the servitors, the SJTA chief said while adding that the State Government will bear the entire cost of the project.
