Puri Rath Yatra: Doctors Spread COVID-19 Awareness among Servitors

Puri: As the construction work of chariots for the annual Rath Yatra has gained momentum here, a team of doctors today spread awareness on COVID-19 among the servitors of Srimandir.

Led by Puri CDMO Dr Nilakantha Mishra, the health team created awareness on coronavirus among the Biswakarma Maharanas (carpenters) and Bhoi servitors engaged in the chariot construction work.

The health team elaborated the servitors about the various preventive measures to contain the COVID-19.

Earlier, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) said that health screening would be conducted for the servitors and Biswakarma Maharanas.

The Chief Administrator of SJTA Dr. Krishan Kumar said that all guidelines will be strictly followed while carrying out the construction work of chariots for Lord Jagannath and His divine siblings – Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra for upcoming Rath Yatra.

The construction work began after getting approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
