Puri: With the work of transformation to make Puri as a World Heritage City is on full swing, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s special initiative got a thumps up from non-other than Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
The Gajapati Maharaja said, “Lord Jagannath is the God of the Odisha as well as whole world. He (Lord Jagannath) gets the work done as per His wishes”.
Dibyasingha Deb was speaking at the 11th general meeting of the Sri Jagannath Chetana Gabesana Pratisthan, Puri on Sunday.
Speaking to media, he said, “Since the formation of the Utkal Pradesh in 1936, and later after independence Odisha government took up charge of Puri’s Lord Jagannath temple into its hand in 1960 after lack of discipline witnessed. And now a massive plan to develop Puri is underway”.
Due to wishes of Lord Jagannath, Naveen babu (Chief Minister of Odisha) could think of such major transformative activities, the Gajapati Maharaja said.
It is the Lord Himself who gets His works done as He wishes. And how He will get it done is up to Him, the Gajapati Maharaja further added.
The earlier governments failed to resolve many issues related to Srimandir. Expectations of devotees were also not addressed, he said.
“I welcome the steps taken by the present ruling government for development of the Shree Khetra and Shree Jagannath”, he saido.
He also said that J B Patnaik while being a scholar did not have the resolve to do what Naveen Patnaik could do.
Notably, 5T Secretary VK Pandian is closely monitoring the rapid transformtion process of the pilgrimage city.
