Bhubaneswar: The duration for recital of ‘Bande Utkala Janani’, the State Anthem of Odisha, will be three minutes, said Information & Public Relations Raghunandan Das on Monday.
The Information and Public Relations Department will soon finalize the tune and music of the song, which will be sung at all government functions, the Minister said.
The official version of the song will be played at various Government functions, Assembly sessions, specially arranged official functions without music and with due reverence, an official release stated earlier.
In school, colleges, other meetings and cultural functions it can be played with background /music accompaniment. It can also be played through Police Band, flute, sitar and other kind of musical instruments.
The School & Mass Education Department and Higher Education Department shall include the full song ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ in their educational curriculum, the release added.
As per protocol, people are to stand while the anthem is played. Physically handicapped, sick and pregnant persons will have to remain silent if they cannot stand. Children need not stand while the song is played.
As many as nine States in India have their own State Anthems.
