Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration has come up with a number of restrictions for pilgrims and Sebayatas in order to check the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. In an emergency meeting of the Chattisha Nijog held today, it was decided that all the Sebayats and Puja Pandas of the temple will wear masks.
The meeting also decided to curtail some of the rituals in the temple in order to avoid gathering of pilgrims. The Bhaktas coming for darshan of the deities will also be asked to give in writing that they are not suffering from any of the symptoms.
The administration has also put restrictions on the eating of Maha Prasad in the Anand Bazaar. Visitors will not be allowed to sit and eat Prasad in the Anand bazaar. All these restrictions will be in force till April 15th.
There will also be restrictions on touching the Aruna Stambha and the Garuda Stambha by the pilgrims. The administration will take steps to decongest the temple premises and crowd gathering will not be permitted.
The emergency meeting of the Chatisha Nijog was attended by Sri Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar, District Collector Balwant Singh,all the members of the Nijog and other officials.
