Cuttack: A special team of Crime Branch has been formed to probe into the matter related to fake drugs in Odisha.
This has been informed by Odisha DGP Abhay.
The team will hold discussion with the drugs controller.
Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered the Crime Branch to probe into fake drugs case.
The State Government had ordered the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited and the Odisha Police to jointly inquiry into the seizure of fake drugs in various districts of the State.
According to sources, spurious and fake Favipiravir tablets were seized in various places including Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Rourkela. The fake drugs are said to have been purchased by a company based out of Cuttack from Himachal Pradesh.
