New Delhi: Even as the world is fighting the war against the dangerous Pandemic Covid-19, the number of persons affected by the disease in the US has surpassed that of Italy and China.
On Friday, the number of infected persons with Covid-19 in the US crossed 85 thousand whereas China and Italy have recorded 81 thousand and 80 thousand respectively.
While the global death toll stood at 23,293, the death toll in the US has reached 13 hundred and Italy tops the list with a devastating with 8215 deaths till Friday.
While more than 500,000 people from various countries have contracted the deadly coronavirus, more than half of the world population is in lockdown to prevent further spread of the disease.
President trump has said, “We are waging war on this virus using every financial, scientific, medical, pharmaceutical and military resource, to halt its spread and protect our citizens,”.
Meanwhile, leaders of the G-20 held a video conferencing and discussed the world situation. They have pledged for a united front against Covid-19 and promised to infuse trillions into the ailing world economy.
According to a statement issued by G-20, “We are injecting over $5 trillion into the global economy, as part of targeted fiscal policy, economic measures, and guarantee schemes to counteract the social, economic and financial impacts of the pandemic.”
