Puri: Odisha Vigilance found five PAN cards possessed by Rama Chandra Jena, Tahasildar and in-charge Sub-Registrar, Nimapada, Puri during the raid on Tuesday.
The PAN cards have Jena’s different numbers, date of birth and father’s name.
Earlier this morning, the vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at many places related to the Nimapada Tahasildar.
This came after the vigilance team intercepted Rama Chandra today near his residence at Nimapada and recovered Rs 4,65,000 cash from him. Further raids at his official residence led to seizure of another Rs 50,000 in cash.
Notably, Jena has been involved in two Vigilance cases in the past over illegal settlement of valuable land and issuing patta and illegal conversion of agricultural land to non- agricultural land.
