Bombay HC Refuses Interim Bail to Arnab Goswami

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday refused to grant bail to Republic TV Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, who was arrested last week in a 2018 abetment to suicide case.

The High Court bench of Justices S S Shinde and M S Karnik ruled that no case was made out for “exercising extraordinary jurisdiction” and Arnab has an alternative remedy of a regular bail.

The bench said that the accused in the matter can approach the sessions court, which in-turn will decide the application within four days.

Goswami on Monday filed a bail application before the sessions court at Alibaug in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
