COVID-19: Ganjam’s Active Cases Drop below 100 after 5 Months

Berhampur: Moving closer to achieving its ‘zero active cases’ mission , Odisha’s Ganjam district has maintained its trend of steadily declining active cases for the last several weeks.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 now remain below the 100-mark for the first time after more than five months in this southern district.

According the Health and Family Welfare Department, the number active cases in the district is 93 after the recovery of 17 patients from the virus on Friday.

With this, the total recovered cases in the district stands at 21126.

Last time, the district had less than 100 cases on June 17 with 73 active cases.

Ganjam, which was once regarded as the COVID-19 hotspot in Odisha, has successfully contained the spread of the virus and has emerged as role model in the country in handling the pandemic.
