Covid-19: Odisha On High Alert

Bhubaneswar: With the deadly Coronavirus starting to spread its tentacles rapidly, the Odisha government has been leaving no stone unturned to contain its spread. While the number of affected people jumped to 20 in the state yesterday, the government has been seriously implementing the lockdown and shutdown in designated places strongly. While the total state is under lockdown till 14th April, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak and some areas of Puri and Jajpur have been declared total Shutdown.

The authorities are implementing the shutdown strongly and more than hundred people have been arrested or sent to compulsory quarantine for flouting the shutdown. In Bhubaneswar 65 people were sent to a quarantine centre for defying shutdown. A quarantine facility has been set up at the Gopabandhu Hostel inside the OUAT campus. In Cuttack also the police is strictly implementing the shutdown.

According to a tweet from the Police DG Abhay, from morning of 03.04.2020 to morning of 04.04.2020, 245 cases have been registered in Odisha for violation of guidelines related to COVID19. Out of these, 230 cases are for violation of LOCKDOWN and 03 cases are for violation of Home Quarantine.

All the areas where positive Corona cases have been found are being sanitized. In Bhubaneswar, the authorities sanitized the total Bomokhal area where three positive cases were found. In Puri, the district administration sanitized the Danagahiri area. In Cuttack and Jajpur also the administration has done sanitization of the areas where positive cases were found.
