Bhubaneswar: The second phase of Covid Vaccination program in Odisha commenced today with DGP Abhay taking the first Vaccine jab in Cuttack. Frontline workers especially from the police will be given the vaccine today. DGP Abhay and other senior officials including DG Fire Services Satyajjit Mohanty, IG Operations Anurag Thakur, Police Commissioner Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi were the first to take the jab at the Netaji Indoor Stadium today.
Odisha government has made elaborate arrangements for the second phase vaccination drive that will focus on frontline workers. In Bhubaneswar, about 8,937 police personnel will be vaccinated at Commissionerate Office, 7th Battalion and the Reserve Police. In Cuttack, eleven vaccination centers have been set up in which more than 6 thousand police personnel will be vaccinated.
