Sambalpur: With the increase in the water flow after heavy rains in the catchment areas of Mahanadi, the Hirakud Dam authorities here have opened four more sluice gates. At 10 AM Tuesday, the reservoir level of the Dam stood at 623.71ft and the level is falling.
With the met department predicting more monsoon rains in the adjoining areas , the water level may increase further. In total ten gates of the Dam are open and 1,88,672 cusecs of water is entering the reservoir while the outflow is 1,16,871 cusecs.
