Ganjam Admin Bans Vehicular Movement in District till July 31

Berhampur: In a bid to contain the spread of Coronavirus, the Ganjam district administration has banned the movement of vehicles in the district till July 31.

However, vehicular movement for agriculture, goods and health purposes will be allowed.

Movement of two-wheelers will be allowed with authentic I-card only, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange tweeted.

Meanwhile, the administration has also requested people not to leave their houses and not to travel more than one kilometer.

Admin also requested elders to stay in home.

“Please don’t travel if not an emergency. Stay at home or at your workplace only. Avoid outside food as there are chances of social distancing violations. Don’t put your life at risk,” the Collector tweeted.

Notably, the district has registered the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the state with 1567 people infected by the virus.

As many as 15 patients have died of Coronavirus in the district.
