Berhampur: Six-day shutdown has been imposed in Jahada panchayat in Dharakote block in Odisha’s Ganjam district to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Exercising the power of Collector bestowed upon the Sarpanches, Jahada Sarpanch Sulata Behera today issued the shutdown order for the village for six days with effect from today.
The order has been issued following the death of Dharakote block vice-chairman due to COVID-19. The order will remain in force till 1 pm, July 2, said a press note issued by the Sarpanch.
Meanwhile, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has disproved the news of three deaths in Jahada Gram Panchayat in Dharakote Block.
In a tweet, he said, “There is only one sad covid demise in Jahada GP, Dharakote. Rumours of three Covid deaths is false.”
