Joe Biden Defeats Trump, Set to Become 46th US President

New York: Democratic candidate and former Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. has defeated Donald Trump to become the 46th U.S. president for a four-year term, according to media reports.

His victory came after winning Pennsylvania and gaining more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to secure the presidency.

Joe Biden got 284 Electoral College votes to win race to the White House.

California Senator Kamala Harris is set to become the first Black and Indian-American woman to serve as vice president, according to reports.

77-year Biden, who will become the oldest president-elect in U.S. history, has pledged to unify and mend a nation reeling from a worsening pandemic, faltering economy and deep political divisions, reports added.
