Last Rites of Deceased COVID-19 Patient to Be Conducted under Supervision of Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: The last rites of the deceased COVID-19 patient will be conducted as per the protocol in place under the supervision of Odisha Government, informed Sanjay Kumar Singh, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of I&PR Department here today.

Briefing the media, Singh said that, the last rites of person, who died in AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, will be conducted as per the procedures laid down by the Government of India under the direct supervision of the Odisha Government.

Notably, the 72-yr-old male belonging to Jharpada had been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 4th April with a complaint of respiratory distress. He had a history of chronic hypertension. He expired on 6th April. He was tested positive for Covid 19.
As per the latest updates, as many as 42 persons had been tested positive in Odisha, with 2 recovered and one casualty.
