Lockdown to Remain in Force in Ganjam Till August 31

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today announced that the lockdown will remain in force in the district till August 31.

Addressing a press conference, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that the weekly shutdown will also be enforced this month.

While, the night curfew will be imposed from 4PM to 5AM,  shops are allowed to open from 5AM to  4PM with strict social distancing norms. The district borders will also remain sealed, he said

Due to strict lockdown, the Covid-19 situation in the district is under control. The Covid-19 cases trend started to decline in the district, the Collector added.

Kulange further urged all the shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the social distancing norms. Stringent action will be initiated against those who do not adhere the norms, he said.

Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Commissioner Chakravarti Singh Rathore, Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra and Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai were present at the press conference.
