Mega Facelift of Konark Temple: Odisha Govt Unveils Draft Plan for Public Comments

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government today unveiled a mega draft plan for facelift of world famous Konark Sun temple in the State.

The draft plan has been put on public domain for comments. The feedback can be sent via mail  at [email protected].

The mega beautification plan has been approved at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

According to a release from office of Chief Minister, the project will be imemented under the 5T initiative of the state government.

As per the plan,  3.5 km-long ring road around the temple will be made six-laned and all the roads connecting to the temple will also be developed.

Govt. will also provide rehabilitation to the local vendors under  the project.

Similarly, the Konark Open Air Theatre will  be come up in a new avtar as part of the project.

30 acres of land facing the temple will be kept open and state of art landscaping will be done to give a new look.

An entry plaza will be developed  at the entrance to welcome the tourists.

Morden multi modal parking system will also be made available.

Besides, a special stretch of road will be constructed for pedestrians as per the plan.
