MKCG Will Have Its Own Oxygen Plant Operational By Next Week

Berhampur: The MKCG Medical College Hospital in Berhampur will have its own Oxygen plant operational by next week. All the works related to the setting up of the plant are smoothly going on and by Wednesday the trial production of Oxygen will commence.

The plant will produce about 20 thousand Kilo Liters of liquid Oxygen which will be used in the Medical College. It will help authorities of the medical college to provide 24*7 Oxygen supply through pipelines to patients in all the departments. The plant is being installed at a cost of Rs 90 lakhs.

Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange today visited the premiere medical college and reviewed the Oxygen plant works. Speaking to newsroomodisha.com, he said “We have speeded up the construction of the plant looking at the current situation. All works related to the plant are presently in the last stages and will be completed by two three days. The trial production will commence by Wednesday. It is going to help us reduce our dependency on cylinders and thereby giving us credible and uninterrupted supply of Oxygen.”

Unlike the first wave of the Covid pandemic, Ganjam is witnessing far less number of infections. In the last 24 hours 259 positive cases have been reported in the district and the total number of active cases stands at 2098. The positivity rate in the district is also showing a continuous downward trend in the last few days.
