New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has stayed this year’s world famous Ratha Yatra in the interest of public health amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Yatra which was scheduled to be held on the 23rd of this month stands cancelled. And all activities related to it also stand cancelled.
Hearing the matter, the Chief Justice of India remarked “Lord Jagannath won’t forgive us if we allow it”.
The Court said such gatherings can’t take place at the time of the pandemic.
