Odisha Allows Home Isolation in Rural Areas

Bhubaneswar: In a major shift of its policy, the Odisha Government today allowed home isolation of Covid-19 positive cases also in rural areas.

According to an order issued today by the Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena stated that Covid-19 positive cases who are asymptomatic/have mild symptoms and have no co-morbidities will be allowed home isolation in rural areas across the State with immediate effect provided that the person opts for home isolation and satisfies the conditions as mentioned in the order for urban areas issued on July 13.

The Sarpanches of gram panchayats or any other officer notified by the Collector of the respective districts shall be the Nodal Officer for the purpose, the SRC’s order further said.
