Odisha: Around 9,000 Health Workers to Be Vaccinated in Bhubaneswar in First Phase

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha will start the state-wide COVID-19 vaccination programme from tomorrow, around 9,000 health workers will be vaccinated at six different centres from tomorrow in Bhubaneswar.

Talking to media, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that the COVID-19 vaccine will be given at six sites – Capital Hospital, Unit-4 Urban Community Health Centre (CHC), KIIMS, SUM Hospital and AIIMS.

Odisha has received 4.08 lakh doses of Serum Institute of India’s Covishield vaccine and 20,000 doses of Covaxin, which has been jointly prepared by the Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

According to the Central Government’s direction, 100 people will be vaccinated at session site on the inaugural day and the vaccination will be over within six to seven days.
