Odisha Govt Instructs All Hospitals to Report Details About Patients with Respiratory Influenza Issues

Bhubaneswar: Changing its strategy amid the increasing positive COVID-19 cases in the State, the Government on Saturday instructed both private and government run hospitals to inform the government about the details of patients suffering from asthma or problem related to respiratory and influenza.

In his regular press briefing, the State Govt’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID19 Subroto Bagchi said, “All the hospitals, both private and government-run hospitals, from across the State have been asked to inform the State Government about the details of patients getting treatment of asthma and influenza in their respective hospitals, failing which action will be taken against the hospitals under Clinical Establishments Act. ”

“Hospitals that discriminate against treating ÇOVID-19 patients will face disciplinary action and their license will be forfeited,” Bagchi added.

According to Health Department as many as 20 persons in the State have been tested positive for ÇOVID-19 including 15 cases in Bhubaneswar.
