FBhubaneswar: In yet another welfare measures, the Odisha Government will provide piped water supply to all rural households by 2024-25, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena informed the Assembly on Tuesday.
As of now, piped water is being supplied to as many as 19,504 villages out of a total of 47,366 villages, said Jena.
“A number of mega and medium drinking water projects are under construction and after their completion, piped drinking water will be supplied to the villages,” he added.
The Minister further informed that the State Government has sanctioned to the tune of Rs 17,372 crore for these projects, while the Centre has sanctioned only Rs 549 crore in the last five years.
