Sambalpur: The authorities of Hirakud dam in Sambalpur district today released the season’s first flood water from the reservoir.
The water was discharged from Gate number 7 of the dam at 10 am. The water level stood at 616 feet against the full reservoir level of 630 feet on Wednesday.
Last year, the dam had released the first flood water on August 14.
