Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as the top performing State in the first phase COVID-19 vaccination drive.
With the vaccination program in the country progressing steadily, Odisha is leading the country in terms of percentage of vaccine coverage.
As per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, Odisha’s coverage percentage has been at 50.7 percent surpassing that of States like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Centre has urged the States such as Jharkhand, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra to improve their vaccination performance.
As on 28th January, 2021, till 7:30 AM, more than 23.5 lakh (23,55,979) beneficiaries have received the vaccination under the countrywide COVID19 vaccination exercise, the Health Ministry said.
As many as 1,78,227 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Odisha, it added.
