Odisha Vigilance Arrests AE Manoj Kumar Patra In Disproportionate Assets Case

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Department has arrested Manoj Kumar Patra, Asst. Engineer, Sunabeda Municipality, Koraput for possession of disproportionate assets. He has been forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. In the last three days of raids at various places associated with Manoj, the vigilance department recovered huge assets and properties including cash Jewelry and immovable properties.

Odisha Vigilance had carried out simultaneous searches in various places related to the Assistant Engineer at six places on allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and found huge amounts of cash, gold and silver jewelleries stashed in Manoj’s bank locker. The total seizures from Manoj included Rs 28.61 lakh cash, 369.10 grams gold and 288.51 grams silver.

The ant corruption agency also unearthed a 3 BHK flat in Bhubaneswar, a double-storey building in Berhampur, seven plots — including a plot in Bhubaneswar and three plots each in Berhampur and Koraput. Also, one four-wheeler, two two-wheelers and insurance deposits worth over Rs 40 lakh were also unearthed during the searches.
