Rourkela: In a significant step in its fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, Odisha has opened the third COVID-19 hospital in the State.
The COVID hospital is operational at Rourkela in Sundargarh district. It has 200 beds with all facilities like isolation wards, ventilator support and ICU. Food, Treatment & Accommodation is free for patients.
The hospital will be managed by the Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital, Rourkela. The supplementary support including equipment and manpower is funded by DMF Sundargarh.
Earlier, the Odisha Government had opened two major COVID-19 hospitals – a 500 bedded hospital near KIMS, Bhubaneswar and a 150 bedded hospital at Ashwini Hospital, Cuttack to provide treatment to the patients.
The State Government has also signed a MoU with SUM Hospital to set up one more COVID hospital.
