New Delhi:
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday promised to hike more than double the daily wage of tea plantation workers if Congress came to power in Assam.
He also slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying “business tycoons from Gujarat” take the State’s wealth away.
The focus of all political parties has been been on tea plantation workers, who are a deciding factor in a third of Assam’s 126 Assembly seats.
“In the last few years, hate has been normalised so much that even our beloved sport cricket has been marred by it.”, Rahul said in his tweet.
India belongs to all of us.
Do not let them dismantle our unity, he added.
