Six More Departments to Be Included in ‘Mo Sarkar’ from Dec 1

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to bring transparency in governance, after healthcare services and police administration, the Odisha government has decided to include six more departments into ‘Mo Sarkar’ fold from December 1.

The six departments are Agriculture, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, Women and Child Development, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Cooperation and Commerce and Transport department.

‘Mo Sarkar’ is an initiative under the 5T (team work, technology, transparency, transformation and time limit) model of governance to ensure the accountability of ¬public officials in delivery of government services.

5T, which is the brain child of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was rolled out on Gandhi Jayanti this year.

According to sources, the state government decided the extend ‘Mo Sarkar’ to the six departments as these deal with top priority social welfare programmes like KALIA, Mamata, Mission Shakti, Food Security, farmers’ registration, drinking water supply and Vahana and Sarathi.
