Tight Security Arrangements in Puri For Debasnana Purnima

Puri: With the famous Debasnana Purnima of Lord Jagannath scheduled to be held a day after, tight security arrangements are being made to restrict the entry and assembly of devotees around the Jagannath temple.

Briefing the media, Central Range DIG Ashish Singh has said that, in view of Corona Pandemic, the rituals will be out of bound for common people and devotees and the administration will make strict arrangements to stop movement of people in the temple city.

Devasnana Purnima is scheduled to be held at the Shree Jagananth Temple on Friday.

Police impose restrictions on the entry of devotees and assembly of general public around the temple.

To restrict the unauthorized persons and vehicles to the close proximity of the temple, massive police arrangements have been made.

The peripheral areas of the temple have been divided into seven zones. All zones will be secured and strict surveillance will be done to avoid congregation of people. While Zone-I will be around the Jagannath Temple, Zone-II will be the Grand Road.

Likewise, Zone-111:-Area in between Balisahi Road to Dolamandapsahi, Zone-IV:- Area in between Balisahi Road to Lokanath Road, Zone-V:-Area in between Lokanath Road to Mangalaghat Crossing, Zone-VI:-Area from Hospital Crossing to Subasbose Crossing, Zone-VII:- 05 entry point of Puri town. Besides Police personal will be deployed on roof tops of the nearby high rise buildings.

Special drive parties and nine mobile patrolling parties have also been formed for patrolling in the area to dissuade any gathering. Special officers have also been deployed for smooth functioning of the law and order situation in Puri.
