War Against COVID-19: Rs 44.5 Cr Released for 30 Districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the war against the deadly Covid-19 entered in a crucial phase, the Odisha Government has released Rs 44.5 Crore for 30 districts informed Odisha’s COVID19 Spokesman Subroto Bagchi today.

Addressing the regular press meet  Bagchi informed that the Rs 44.5 Crore has been released from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to 30 District Red Cross Societies for taking necessary steps for combating COVID-19 situation in the state.

He said: “Ganjam and Malkangiri districts have been given Rs. 3 crore each while Balasore, Baragarh, Balangir, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Sambalpur districts to Rs. 2 crore each, Angul, Bhadrak, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nuapara, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Subarnapur and Sundargarh districts to Rs. 1 crore each and Rs 50 lakh to Deogarh district”.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), , has donated Rs 500 Crores to the CMRF for supporting the State government efforts to control the COVID-19 situation.

“This is apart from the Rs 100 crores already contributed to CMRF in February 2020,” he added.
