1676 Tonnes In Five Days; Kudos to Odisha Police For Facilitating Troublefree Movement of 90 Tankers

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its efforts of providing a safe and speed passage of Oxygen tankers to other states, the Odisha Police has in the past five days helped 90 tankers with 1676 tonnes of liquid oxygen to cross its borders. Odisha police has escorted these tankers from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts.

Of the 90 tankers, 30 tankers with 644.72 tonnes of oxygen were sent to Andhra Pradesh and 19 tankers with 324.079 tonnes of oxygen were sent to Telengana. Tamilnadu received one tanker filled with 15.98 tonnes of medical oxygen. Haryana received eight tankers filled with 187.512 tonnes of oxygen. Six tankers with 112.06 tonnes of oxygen were sent to Maharashtra, while 61.44 tonnes of oxygen filled in 4 tankers have left for Chhattisgarh. Seven tankers have carried around 114.17 tonnes of oxygen to Uttar Pradesh in last five days.

Based on the directives of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a Special Cell was formed under Y K Jethwa, ADG (L&O) as the Nodal Officer for coordinated action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen by Odisha to States facing deficit. A Dedicated Corridor has been set up with round the clock monitoring. According to a release by the Odisha police, Odisha Police is committed to ensure that there is no delay in loading and transporting so as to promptly serve thousands of needy patients in UP, MP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Tamil Nadu and other states.
