5T Impact: Action Against Cops In Ganjam and Kandhamal For Corruption and Negligence

Bhubaneswar: With the implementation of 5T Initiative in the police department, a visible change is being seen on the ground. Regular feedbacks and on-site visits by officers have changed the way police stations serve the people. Going a step ahead, Ganjam and Kandhamal police have started taking action against officials who are found to be deviating from the set principles of good governance.

While the Asst Sub-Inspector of Nimakhandi Police Outpost under Berhampur Police Limits has been suspended for taking bribe to release a stolen motor cycle, two others belonging to Phulbani Model Police station have been suspended for laxity in duty.

Prafulla Chandra Satapathy , in-charge of Nimakhandi outpost, has been suspended after it was found that he had asked for bribe to release a stolen motor cycle. A complaint regarding this was received through Mo Sarkar phone call. Taking the incident seriously, Southern Range DIG Satyabrata Bhoi suspended Prafulla and ordered an enquiry by a DSP rank officer.

In another instance, two police officials belonging to Phulbani Model Police Station have been suspended for negligence in duty. Phulbani Superintendent has suspended Asst Sub Inspector Bijay Nayak and Sentry Ranjit Behera.
