Bhawanipatna: A lecturer in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district has come under the scanner of vigilance department for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Based on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Surya Narayan Ray, Lecturer at Govt. Polytechnic School, Bhawanipatna at 5 places in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Kendrapara and Sundargarh on Tuesday by the team of Rourkela Vigilance Division.
The vigilance sleuths unearthed assets (both movable and immovable properties) worth over Rs 2 crore 45 lakh during the simultaneous raids.
The properties include three double storeyed buildings, one RCC roof building and 8 plots in Jharsuguda town, 1 four wheeler, 1 two wheeler, bank & postal deposits worth over Rs 30 lakh, Insurance deposits worth over 41 lakh, cash and other movable and immovable properties.
