Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik for seven days from March 5.
The BJD held a preparatory meeting at the party office here on Monday for the state-level celebrations of Biju Jayanti.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the senior party leaders said that the BJD government will complete its 20-year rule in Odisha on March 5.
As the day coincides with the birth anniversary of the legendary leader Biju Patnaik, the party along with its youth and women wings will celebrate his birth anniversary for seven days, the leaders said.
The BJD will also organize special programmes in Cuttack, the birthplace of the former Chief Minister.
