CM Speaks to People of Swabhiman Anchala, Announces to Distribute Free Mobile Smart Phones to All Households

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday spoke to the people of Swabhiman Anchala, erstwhile cutoff areas, in Malkangiri district and reiterated his commitment for rapid development in the region.

Appealing to LWE cadres to quit the path of violence and join the mainstream, the Chief Minister announced to distribute smart phone freely to all the households of the area which will be helpful for education.

“Swabhiman Anchala is always in my heart and I will continue to strive to make it a more advanced and developed area”, the CM said.

“On July 2018 I had visited Swabhiman areas and inaugurated Gurupriya bridge. I had announced Rs 100 crore special package, which was later enhanced to Rs 215 crore for the rapid development of the area.” He said.

Focus has been given on the development of health, safe drinking water, irrigation , pucca ghar and banking facilities in the area, he added.

Exposure visit for the members of mission Shakti were also arranged for the empowerment of the women.

Highlighting the cultivation of turmeric for livelihood, Patnaik said, steps were also taken to set up turmeric processing unit and branding of the same.

11 kv 3 phase line electricity connection will be given to the people as 33 x 11 kv Substation work will be completed soon, he said.

The Government has also decided to invest Rs 100 crore for construction of 7 bridges, 78 K.M all weather road and other concrete roads in the area.

Mega pipe water supply project has also been started with an investment of Rs 20 crore, besides completing 250 tube wells to provide safe drinking water.

The State Government has also decided to construct 43 lift irrigation projects and 419 Cluster Deep Borewell by investing Rs 32 crore to provide irrigation facilities in the area which will irrigate 1700 hectares of land.

Expressing pleasure over setting up of the mobile network, he said I am happy that 4 mobile towers have already been set up to provide 4G telecom services. The government is also planning to set up 3 more telecom towers in the area.
