Phulbani: Odisha Director General of Police Abhay today visited Kandhamal and reviewed the LWE situation in the district along with Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur districts. He visited the Khamankhol Company Operating Base of CRPF along with SDG Kuldeep Singh, CRPF, Director Intelligence R K Sharma, IG Operations Amitabh Thakur and IG CRPF.
Abhay reviewed the maoist operational strategy in the area with the SPs of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal. Senior Commandant from the CRPF also attended the review meeting. The thrust of the review meeting was on further intensifying the operations in the tri-junction of Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada districts. The DG also attended a Sainik Sammelan during his visit. Odisha Police and CRPF are working together to counter the menace of LWE in the area which is on a continuous decline.
