Berhampur: A village in Odisha’s Ganjam district has been declared containment zone as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Matia Sahi village in Baghalati gram panchayat under Kukudakhandi block has been declared as COVID-19 hotspot, said Shinde Dattatraya Bhausaheb, Sub-Collector-cum Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Berhampur and Incident Commander for COVID-19.
The step was taken by the administration after getting information about presence of at least 130 migrants from Bhubaneswar, which has reported maximum number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the State.
As per the order, all the movement of people and vehicles in or out of Matia Sahi is strictly restricted until further orders. The police set up a temporary check post at entry point of the village and monitor the lockdown.

Any person violating the lockdown will be taken to compulsory quarantine facility, an official order.
